When I buy books for my Kindle4 Paperwhite, it says it is

When I buy books for my Kindle4 Paperwhite, it says it is purchasing them, but the titles do not show up on the display screen. Also, books I purchased with my Kindle2 and Kindle3 do not show up on my archived list. I did get a message that said something about me exceeding something and I needed to discontinue a Kindle. I didn't understand the message.
My account is under the name of Cindy Dees even though I am Joy Scallan, her mother. She pays for the books I purchase.

This is usually an issue with the Firmware, so I would first like you to do this please.

Remove the charger from the Kindle and hold the power button to off for 35 seconds.

Release, then connect the charger and try to turn on the Kindle and tell me if you still have the issue please.
