I'm really sorry; we've tried all troubleshootings, i.e., resetting it to factory default settings, and cleaning the screen; this confirms that part of the screen is damaged; it's a hardware issue, so you need a new nook. And/or do you have a Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10 computer, or a tablet or a smartphone that you can read your nook books on?
