  2. Tap the orange link that says Reset Your Parental Controls Password. ...
  3. Enter your Amazon account password (this is the password ***** used to register your device, and to sign in to Amazon).
  4. Enter your new Parental Controls password.

Its then reset

I did step #1 Step #2 did not work I got a blue line that says to reset my kindle to factory defaults.

ok, then you will have to reset the Kindle, it will remove all the content and return it to new, but your books will be back on it once you register the Kindle again.

do the reset, then setup the Kindle like when you first received it and the parental control is removed
