Hello and sorry you're having problems. This is most commonly caused by the software in the Kindle, or in some cases a bad charger cable. First try another mini to standard USB cable and charger and see if that works. However if the Kindle is not even able to be turned on, then you would want to try a hard reboot. Please press and hold the power switch on the Kindle for 35 seconds, then release. Wait a full minute without pressing any buttons on the device for it to reboot. If this does not work, then try the reboot up to 3 more times. If you're still having issues, then try a known working charger cable and plug the Kindle into the charger for 10 minutes, then perform the reboot again up to three more times. These are the only steps you can take to correct this on a user level, and beyond this the device requires service. In this case please postback with the model of the Kindle and how long you have owned it for.
