You can register up to 5 Kindle devices and apps to the same account and have access to your books on all of them. Amazon keeps your books and purchases on their server so there's no worry of losing them. If your Kindle app on the iPhone isn't working, simply uninstall it and start over, registering yoru Kindle account. You'll notice that your books are under 'Cloud'. Tap on them to download them to the phone and they will then appear under 'Device'.
