The reason that is happening is because both Kindles are registered to the same Amazon account. This may happen if both Kindles were purchased from Amazon using the same account. All you need to do is unregister the other Kindle.

To do that, just press Home, and then Menu, and then "Settings" and then deregister.

Well you would likely want to keep your registered to your account.

You will want to deregister your friend's Kindle, and then they can go to that same place on the Kindle to register it to their own Amazon account.

Yes, I would like to keep mine to my account. But ones says on it "first kindle" and the other says "second kindle." Does it matter which one is deregistered?
