The first thing to try is to reset the Kindle. To reset the Kindle - disconnect any charger or USB cable and power it off. Then, slide the power switch as if to turn it on, and hold it all the way over for 15 seconds and then release it.

Then power on the Kindle and let it boot up. See if that will correct your WiFi connection.
