If you live in a house that 6 people smoking crack and meth

If you live in a house that 6 people smoking crack and meth in different rooms, i was in a room not smoking anything but former tenant was using in that room, would that explain why i tested positive on a hair follicle drug test?

Have you had any drugs? If so, when. Did you smell it in your room?

Thank you for your question. There are a number of reasons you could test positive for drugs based on the limited information available.

Prolonged and repeated (passive) exposure to an environment contaminated with drugs can in fact cause a positive hair drug test. Essentially, by living in such an environment, you are absorbing small amounts of these drugs over time.

The other possibility is that there was surface contamination of the specimen that was not adequately washed off during the testing process. (Labs run the hair through several washes before testing).

Here is an article on passive exposure documented in children's hair
