Thank you for the added details. Cars are symbolic of ourself and how we travel through life. the fact your friend took your car without your permission led me to believe she was pushy and overbearing. Your dream processes your irritation with this, and indicates this behavior is damaging to others and threatens to 'kill' the friendship.
Perhaps she is unaware of the damage she does, since in the dream after the person dies you notice she is crying (remorseful). You are still upset in the dream and by that time are unwilling to forgive.
Not only is this dream processing your negative feelings, it also gives insight into the fact she may be unaware of the damage she is doing.
