You probably already know that dreams about your therapist are unconscious reactions to her and communications to her about yourself in the therapy process. I'm surprised that she wouldn't interpret the dream herself, because she would know a lot better questions to ask you than a stranger to your therapy would. So list ALL of the ways this therapist in the dream is different (or does different things) from your therapist in real life.

Also how will driving the car with all you patients in it turn out differently with her lying down sideways compared to sitting up and looking thru the windshield? I would guess that she wouldn't see where she was going. But she's not having any accidents, so she drives instinctively well without using her ordinary vision. To what extent does lying down on a couch play a role in your therapy? What is your attitude about couch sharing as a method of doing therapy? Have you been sharing some potentially embarrassing thoughts about your sexuality with her, or thinking about that?

Have you been having feelings about being her daughter, or being upstaged by her interest in her daughter, as well as being insignificant compared to other patients who might have been wth her for longer than you have? The blanket parable suggests 1. her comforting gift to you is both warming you up and embarrassing you, because you can't figure out how to cover up the feelings you're having beause of her warmth, including perhaps some sexual edges that won't fold up tightly enough to keep covered. 2. You're starting to feel more childlike and helpless because of the way her motherly caring is stimulating childlike yearnings for comfort and safety, AND you compare yourself to her other female patients who seem to be more competent than you are. 3. you're even assuming that her reaction to your losing your "neat-freak" obsessive defense against craving a good mother will be to reject your helplessness. So you're transfering your own mother's need that you NOT be childlike but act competent and clean-orderly like a little adult. You're pretty early in your therapy and not yet comfortable at revealing anything less than healthy-proper-clean-&- competent, yet without that degree of self-revealing your real therapy won't really get started.
