Some people who put themselves in dishonest situations do so out of compulsive behavior. He may not have been honest with you because he didn't know how, and didn't want to damage both the friendship and the benefits aspect (even though this piece stopped a while ago). This decision has damaged the relationship anyway.
If you are no longer participating in the 'benefits' aspect of the relationship, and you had this dream after stopping, you still have to look at his dream as engaging in something negative and taboo, and negatively productive. It still speaks to what you were doing, as well as his involvement with the other women. Perhaps his guilt is with his dishonesty.
