Help!!! We recently lost our older dog & got a younger dig

Customer Question

Help!!! We recently lost our older dog & got a younger dig as a companion for or 3-year old pit mix. Both are females; both are spayed. The older one, Bella, never displayed aggressive behavior before. When we got Sadie, who was timid in disposition at first--we were afraid of getting another pit mix or "alpha" dog--after a few sniffs and growls from Bella, they got along fine. Soon they were running & romping around our 4 acres, playing, "wrestling". No problems at all.
Then, last night, we don't know what happened, but Bella attacked Sadie. We had to put Brlla in a kennel all night, even though before we went to bed they were licking each other and " friends" again. This morning we let them out. They ate breakfast together like normal. We thought things were fine, but two minutes later, Bella was attacking Sadie again.
What the heck could have happened?

Did you have a temperament test done on Bella to determine her personality or did you just pick Bella out due to the way she was acting at the rescue?

Was you other dog always alpha?

Are you watching body language ? Noticing any staring between the two dogs and if so who initiates tha?

Are there ever any possessions in the area like a toy , bone, food, etc?
