Hello and welcome. My name is ***** ***** I have been in the dog field for 25 years. I am a Therapy Dog & AKC Evaluator/trainer/ as well as an assistance/service dog trainer, specializing in behavior. It will be my pleasure to help you today.

No dog has ever had a heart attack from barking. They have heart attacks if there is a heart murmur. It does not sound like she has a heart problem.

There is no magic pill that will stop a dog's nature. Jack Russel's are known for their exuberance of life which is what makes them a popular breed.

Your best bet is to expend that energy properly using body and mind so it curtails itself.

Dogs act out because they have not been shown a different way to act. If that behavior is let go long enough then it becomes a learned behavior that the owner must then teach a different behavior to combat that.

Invest in mind stimulating toys such as the buster cube, giggle ball, puzzles where the dog has to lift the piece to find the food. If you google dog puzzles on Amazon.com you will find many.

Also try training the dog the commands leave it, and speak and quiet so it knows what you expect.

Speak and quiet are taught in conjunction so the dog learns the difference.

I will send you links to training to get you started. Jack Russel's have to be worked with quite often because of their personality.

the only other thing you can try in combination with training to help the dog focus would be melatonin. This is not going to drug the dog, just take down the anxiety level a bit.

Melatonin found in drug stores by vitamins

There is something called the Barker breaker which emits a sound as soon as the dog starts to bark, it is automatic, or there is the hand held which the owner controls. The sound is audible to humans as well but you can control the volume. the dog would have to be sensitive to sound in order for it to work. But you can try it and if it does not work for your dog then return it for refund. The barker breaker can be found on Amazon.com as well. I find the automatic one is best because it will go off even when you are not home so it continuously corrects the behavior http://www.shop.com/Super+Barker+Breaker-923957483-p+.xhtml?sourceid=298&CAWELAID=120181210000158514&CAGPSPN=pla&gclid=Cj0KEQjwnrexBRDNmZzNkf7c4c4BEiQALnlxha7wOnBvilFOg8vDnzuHi6qVmowMJO5YeZFfSkgSq7AaAnle8P8HAQ
