Hello, my name is***** and I'm an emergency veterinarian. I'm here to provide you with excellent service.
I’m very sorry to hear you are experiencing these issues, but I appreciate you reaching out to us for assistance. Hopefully I can help. I’m so sorry Theo is drooling and moaning with a lack of energy. You must be so worried. I have some questions I will ask below that will help me to understand what could be going on with him. Please be aware I am a licensed veterinarian, but I am not your pet’s veterinarian and cannot examine your pet, so I cannot legally provide you with any specific veterinary medical advice such as diagnosis or prescribing medication. However, I can generally speak to help you understand resources that may help you and advise you to seek medical attention.

How long has this been going on? Is he just laying there moaning?

Customer
He's better after we gave him Benadryl. Was hoping to get ahold of someone a lot faster. Thanks. Take care.

Oh there is no time stamp so I didn't know when you sent the message. Do you know what exactly was wrong with him that Benadryl would have helped?

Customer
We reach out last night at 9pm. We think he got into something in the backyard. His face was puffy and his eyes were watering so we gave him half a Benadryl and it seemed to help after 20 min.

Oh okay I'm so glad you gave the Benadryl. The moaning and drooling do not tend to fit with an allergic reaction however sometimes they are truly nauseous with it. Have you repeated the Benadryl?

Customer
No. He's back to 100% normal.
That's good news. Hopefully it was just a small animal bite. Usually the swollen face does not improve with a single dose.

I would definitely touch base with your vet on Monday and let them know what happened.

And again I'm sorry I did not see your message as I was not working when you sent it. Is there anything else I can help you with for now?

Customer
No. If we have another issue like this do we have to go all the way through the system again or just message this number.

It needs to be a separate question If it's a separate animal with a separate problem, for record-keeping purposes but you are welcome to request me if you wish

And when I'm online I will be able to reply to your question.

Customer
Ok thanks!

You're welcome. Is there anything else I can help you with for now?

Customer
No thank you

You're welcome. I hope I was able to answer your question. I sure wish you all the best with Theo. As I mentioned I am available if you have any follow-up questions for the next few days. If you would like to ask me another question in the future, you can add me as a favorite Expert. You'll have the option to do that on your "My Questions" page if you choose to rate our interaction or you can request me by name if you wish, again my name is*****
Thanks for reaching out to us here at Just Answer.
