As you may already know, hives are allergic reactions to something Athena came in contact with or ate. It was a good idea to bathe her. I recommend starting her on Benadryl (diphenhydramine) 25mg 2 tablets (50mg) every 8-12 hours for 5 days. You can buy Benadryl over the counter in any pharmacy. Please make sure it is plain Benadryl (diphenhydramine) without a decongestant. If the hives are not better by tomorrow, she should see a veterinarian; she will need prescription medication. If the hives are better, continue on Benadryl for 5 days, do not stop.

As far as the worms, those are tapeworms. Athena needs to be dewormed. You can buy a dewormer in your local pet store with the active ingredient "praziquantel." Please give at label dose; the praziquantel will get rid of tapeworms.

Possible side effect is mild sedation.

The only thing you can do at home is Benadryl and bathing her. Unfortunately, there is nothing unless you have a different type of antihistamine at home.
