Hello, my name is***** and I'm an emergency veterinarian. I'm here to provide you with excellent service.

I’m very sorry to hear you are experiencing these issues, but I appreciate you reaching out to us for assistance. Hopefully I can help. I’m so sorry your dog is bleeding. You must be so worried. I have some questions I will ask below that will help me to understand what could be going on with them.

Please be aware I am a licensed veterinarian, but I am not your pet’s veterinarian and cannot examine your pet, so I cannot legally provide you with any specific veterinary medical advice such as diagnosis or prescribing medication. However, I can generally speak to help you understand resources that may help you and advise you to seek medical attention.

How long ago did you notice the bleeding?

Hi, I was just checking in to see if you received my request for more information. If not, here it is again:

How long ago did you notice the bleeding? Is there blood in his poop?

Without the information I requested, I can only give you general advice so I hope this helps. I'm so sorry your dog is bleeding on or around the rectum. Certainly the best way to figure out where the blood is coming from is to fully remove all of the blood and wiper really well and then watch it to see where the blood oozes from. I would also pay attention to whether or not there's blood in the stool itself. I don't know if in the picture we are looking at older blood or where the blood first came from so that would be my advice. When we see blood, we want to know if it's rectal bleeding, skin bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, if the dog has a bleeding disorder because they ate rat poison days ago, all of that and if you keep seeing it oozing out then I worry that there's too much blood loss and that would be reason to get him into the emergency vet.

Of course, I'm happy to discuss this further if you wish. I thank you for reaching out to us here at Just Answer and I sure hope your dog is doing better soon.
