Hello, I am Dr. Paul. Thanks for connecting with Just Answer.
Please know that I am unable to tell how long you have been waiting for a response – I am sorry if it has been awhile. There are many of us on the site at various times. When I log on, I try to work from the bottom of the list as well as scan for any serious emergency requests and respond to those as soon as I see them.
Your poor dog! Please bring the dog directly to a veterinary ER and bring the packaging of the D-Con with you. D-Con has recently changed ingredients from an anti-coagulant to cholecalciferol, and both will need to be treated differently at the ER. If you further than an hour from an ER and ingestion has occurred within 2 hours, you can try to induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide (dose is 1 teaspoon per 5 pounds, up to a maximum of 3 tablespoons, given in bread. Can be repeated once if no vomiting, but only once. Then go right to the ER. The ER vet will likely open a case with the ASPCA Poison Control (1-***-***-****) and will coordinate a treatment plan for your dog with the toxicologist.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Best of luck with your dog! Thanks again for connecting with Just Answer.
