However before I can start I need a little more information to make things clearer for me, so could you please confirm the following :
1. How long ago did this happen { How many minutes or hours ago }?
Got it thanks, ***** ***** by, I am typing up your answer right now.
My aim is to get an initial answer back to you within the next ten minutes.
I know that you must be very concerned. Hopefully, we can get this resolved quickly for you.
1. Good news! While vitamin D can be toxic to dogs, Henry is not in any danger from swallowing 125 mcg, I say this because the maximum safe level of vitamin D is generally accepted as being 100 mcg per Kg of your dog's body weight.
2. Your dog weighs 2.7 kgs { 6 pounds } so his toxic dose is 270 or above so the 125 mcg he did swallow is well below any toxic level.
3. Given the above, there is nothing special you need to do in these circumstances. Your dog should be just fine.
Of course, as a precaution, you should monitor him for any adverse symptoms and contact your vet if such occur but this would be very unlikely indeed.
But in any case, I should be available online for you for the next four or five hours today so please do not hesitate to get straight back to me if Henry's condition changes in any way or indeed if you would like to talk things over with me further.
Regards,
Dr. Scott
