I’m so sorry Callie has been lethargic and vomited a handful of times over a week and that she has a rash around her vaginal area. You must be so worried.

I have a few questions I will ask below that will help me to understand what might be going on with her.

• Is she spayed?
• Has it been exceptionally hot there?
• Does she often eat the stuffing out of her toys?

Thank you - mild skin infections usually don't cause lethargy and vomiting, so there is likely another cause.  Sometimes heat alone is enough, but usually not.

Are you trying to avoid a vet visit, or wondering if you should go?

OK, with a 2-3 compared to her normal mood, I am going to call whatever it is "moderate severity."  I would recommend she be seen today if possible.

If she were my patient, she would get a blood screen for anemia, organ problems, and infection  - including tickborne disease - as it is that time of year, and an x-ray of her abdomen to see if maybe she has a bit more stuffing moving through than anyone thought and it is causing a problem.

That sounds like the smartest course of action
