Customer: We have a 4 month old golden retriever puppy. Weighs 21 lbs. He ate a small portion of a muffin that is vanilla but has chocolate chips and a little strings of chocolate icing across the top. So he may have eaten some of the icing, as well as maybe 2-4 1/4 inch by 1/2 inch pieces of chocolate each maybe a little more then an eighth of an inch thick. This happened about 25-30 minutes ago. So far he is not showing any unusual signs.

Give 10mg of human over-the-counter Famotidine (Pepcid AC) from human drug stores. It’s a drug for human and heartburn that can prevent upset stomach in some cases. If your pet starts vomiting or not eating within 12 hours let me know or see a vet. Do you have any questions about what I said?
This is not usually toxic. Pepcid is to help with an upset stomach.
