Hi! Welcome and thanks for using Just Answer. I am Dr. Laura. I am a veterinarian with 20 years of experience with small animals. I am sorry you are having this problem with Elmo.
Is he current on vaccines?
Customer
he is fully vaccinated
Good. Is there anything he might have eaten different or chewed up?
Customer
He does eat his own food. My mum did give him some left over food. Not sure what exactly it was.
Had he had any more vomiting since the initial vomiting three days ago?
Customer
No that’s it. Since the days ago.
Customer
However this was his stool yesterday

I’m really concerned that he might have a parvovirus
Customer
He is a bit flat today. I haven’t given him much food lately. I’ve been giving rice water. Not sure what the best thing i need to do
That's good. Is he lethargic or does he have normal energy?
Customer
Different energy he’s more happier right now he’s really down
If he is currently on vaccines it shouldn't be parvovirus causing it. Many things can cause bloody stool.
It is usually a sign of inflammation and can be colitis. This can be caused by eating something different, stress or an infection.
Customer
He keeps gagging almost like he is going to vomit
Customer
I’m just giving him rice water for now. Until he’s tommy settles maybe?
I would recommend giving some canned pumpkin if he will eat to help with the inflammation and bloody stool and feed a bland food like chicken or lean hamburger and rice. You can tye giving some pepcid to help with the upset stomach.
Customer
no worries I’ll give him some of that
If it continues for another day or so or if he get serially lethargic then I would have a vet take a look in case of an infection or something more serious.
Do you have any more questions I can help you with?
If so just let me know. Thanks for using Just Answer!
