I am very sorry to see that you have not received a response to your initial question before now. I just came online and found that your question had not been addressed. How is your companion at this time?

Still no appetite after ER. Assuming he is still recovering from the medication they gave him to relax so they can extract the urine from his bladder
Dog Veterinarian: PitRottMommy, Veterinary Nurse replied 21 days ago

Some medications require many hours before it's fully worn off. Did they show you how to express his bladder yesterday? Can you tell me more about his medical concerns? Is he unable to fully express his bladder on his own?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 21 days ago
Before ER he was peeing but not enough to extract all and hence the filling up of the bladder. Now after ER he is not eating nor peeing but still only drink a small amount of water.
Customer reply replied 21 days ago
He still looks daze and just want to sleep
Dog Veterinarian: PitRottMommy, Veterinary Nurse replied 21 days ago

Did the ER obtain bloodwork while he was present?

Did they perform any x-rays?

Any vomiting or diarrhea from him?

Do you know what medications were given while he was there?

yesterday he did poop some thick mucus type small amount. blood test came back ok. they only gave him Buprenorphine to relax him so they can extract the urine
Dog Veterinarian: PitRottMommy, Veterinary Nurse replied 21 days ago

Buprenorphine should work for about 6-8 hours. If he's profoundly lethargic I'd take him back for a recheck visit. Moreover, they need to teach you how to help express his bladder manually if he's unable to do this on his own. Most dogs need this 3-4x daily if they cannot go on their own. If he's able to partially express his bladder you may be able to offer assistance only 1-2x daily depending on his needs. You may also need to try enticing foods to get him to eat, such as boiled chicken, turkey or eggs. You can also try pureed baby food in chicken, turkey and similar flavors. Avoid those that contain onion or garlic in the ingredient panel.

he doesn't even want his favorite treat. baby food we try but he smell it only and move his head away
I will give him today since he is an old dog. I will take him back to ER if nothing change.

There may be other concerns compounding his symptoms, such as nausea or lack of appetite. Your vet can address this with antiemetic medications or an appetite stimulant.
