My dog just got hold of a half pill of xanax (.25 mg), which i got most of it out of her mouth. Being as she probably didn't even ingest any (she is 6 lbs), do I need to induce vomiting?

We dose alprazolam to dogs at up to 0.025 mg per pound of body weight which would be equivalent to 0.15 mg for Lucy. Even if she had ingested all of the 0.25 mg pill you would only see lethargy, sedation, and ataxia ("drunken sailor") and she would remain safe. There's no need to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Please respond with further questions or concerns.
