I am sorry to hear you are concerned about Dakota. How long since she lost her appetite, and is lethargic?

If you lift her lip to check her gums, are they pink in color, or pale?

Is she spayed?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 3 months ago
It has been about a week and her gums are pink and she is spayed.
Dog Veterinarian: Rebecca, Dog Veterinarian replied 3 months ago

That is good she is spayed, and her gums are pink. However, not eating for a week is very concerning. Is she eating anything? Is she drinking?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Dog Veterinarian: Rebecca, Dog Veterinarian replied 3 months ago

Dog will hide their illnesses as long as they can, and a change in appetite is often the only clue that something is wrong. Anytime an older dog loses their appetite, I recommend starting with a good physical exam. She is telling us something is wrong; dogs don't just stop eating for no reason.

The lethargy concerns me. Good her gums are pink, but she may be anemic.

Can you take her temperature? Normal rectal temp is 101.5

She is drinking a lot and I have decided to take her to the vet today to be checked.
Dog Veterinarian: Rebecca, Dog Veterinarian replied 3 months ago

That really is best. I am pretty worried by her lethargy, and the not eating. Please let me know what you find out and how she is doing.
