Welcome to JustAnswer.com! My name is***** and I have been a licensed veterinarian for 10 years. I would be happy to answer your question. I'm sorry to hear that Copper ate a chocolate candy bar. Was it dark or light chocolate? How many ounces was the bar?

Since Copper is a small dog, I'm worried that the amount of chocolate he ate puts him at risk of chocolate toxicity, which can result in death. I would get a few teaspoons of hydrogen peroxide and mix it in some milk (or whatever else he will drink) to induce vomiting. To be on the safe side, I would then get him to the ER for treatment with activated charcoal and IV fluids to get the rest of the toxin out of his system, and so that he can be monitored for heart arrhythmias.
