Hi, this is Dr. Thompson. I’ve been a small animal veterinarian since 2000. Thanks for your question. I understand you're concerned because your dog is lethargic and wobbly. Is that correct?

Yed

If I may ask a few more questions, I will be able to give a better recommendation.

1. Breed and age of dog

2. How is her appetite and thirst?

Missie is a 10 month old standard poodle. She is Lethargic, disoriented and off balance. She can walk without falling down

That is concerning. Any exposure to medications or toxins possible?

No diarrhea, no throwing up

Not that we know of. Could thc do that? And how would we know?

Has she gotten into anything she shouldn't have?

I really don't think so but it could be possible. Can thc give her those symptoms?

Sorry, our texting overlapped. It is very concerning for a 10 month old dog to be wobbly and disoriented. This could be from drug or toxin exposure. A blood test may help identify this. Other possibilities are metabolic or neurologic problems.

This is a case where she should be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

Can thc cause these symptoms?

Yes, THC definitely can.

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question

As it says in the article, THC/marijuana is rarely fatal but can cause problems in the short term. Wouldn't be a bad idea to have her checked by a vet. They will want to check her heart rate, blood pressure, etc. and can give supportive care if needed.
