Hello, this is Dr. Schmidt. Thank you for using JustAnswer. I would recommend adding some fiber to his diet to see if that helps firm up the stool. I would add 1 capsule of Metamucil to his food with some water every 12 hours. This will increase the fiber in his diet and hopefully help with the diarrhea.

Okay do you recommend using probiotics with his breed as well or the fiber should do the trick?

I would use the probiotics as well, it would be a good idea given his breed.

The capsules are just regular human Metamucil capsules? If so should I just buy the powder?

Yes, the regular human metamucil capsules that are over the counter at the store.
