She is not eating much and losing a few teeth and i give dog biscuits ,however her breath is very bad smelling, also she won't let us brush.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What is the dog's name and age?

Zoey and she is 12

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Zoey?

She loves to run and if she can get out she free the other day i left the back open and she didn't attempt to leave , unusual for her!

Hi, Dr W here. I'm sorry to hear this. I'm concerned that since she won't let you brush her teeth and you can smell the foul smell and she is losing teeth that she has an oral infection and maybe even a tooth root abscess. It's difficult when they won't let you brush their teeth. If her oral health is getting pretty bad (and it sounds like it is) it may be time to talk to your veterinarian about some antibiotics to alleviate infection and help her feel better.

There is a type of antibiotic protocol used for dental care called "pulse therapy" where you give a week of antibiotic each moth or so to maintain dental health and help prevent all the bad diseases that come from having dirty teeth like heart failure and kidney failure. You may want to call and talk to your veterinarian about this.
