My dog is 10kilos and I think he just swallowed 5 mg of ,exapro (I am. Cutting my 10 in half at the moment). He’s 15 years old. Lexapro not exapro

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. The Expert will know if your dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name?

Rocco

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Rocco?

Apart from this he’s great, he has had an ear infection but that was given the all clear yesterday.

5 mg/10 kg = 0.5 mg/kg At doses of 0.33 mg/kg ataxia ("drunken sailor"), and lethargy are expected within 12-24 hours. (At doses of 4.4 mg/kg tremors and vocalization can arise.) Rocco will remain safe but you can avoid those symptoms by inducing emesis with 22.5 mL (1 1/2 measuring tablespoons) of 3% hydrogen peroxide given with a small poultry baster placed between his cheek teeth and cheek. He should vomit within 15 minutes. If not, please repeat the same dose. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
