DR MICHAEL SALKIN ONLY PLEASE OUR DOG VET ON JUST ANSWER are cooked beans mixed with dry dog food ok for dogs ? This is one I never looked up but since our dogs love and thrive on beats, sweet potatoes, and other root vegetables, I would think that beans are also ok.

They are, Gina. They're a terrific source of protein. Regretfully, I have no idea how beets, sweet potatoes, other root vegetables, and now beans affect the nutritional balance found in dry dog food but none of them have met their maker yet so you're obviously doing well by them.

Just checking - yes, they are all healthy and alert, active and funny - definitely omnivores . We made a large batch of beans that just didn't taste very good to us so - the dogs win this one. I mix powdered glucosamin in, Angel eyes, ( I use the coffee bean grinder to grind the glucosamin into power so its thoroughly mixed in ) because I was told by one of the vet specialists here that they needed to be getting this for optimum health. They also love watermelon and frozen blueberries. All our dogs self - feed and the only sort of fatty guy is Jolly Roger Rascal , the spaniel. The others are slim and trim and great . The hair grew back on the Miniature Pinschers fine once I changed the dog food to Science Diet and added all the other stuff little by little and used Waldryl antihistamines for them. Again our vet here suggested doing it but children's benyadril - they did not like the flavors but when I opened the caps from the adult antihistamine and sprinkled it over food for them - great success. My whole family became vegan now so they also get the left over cans of tuna and salmon that we had here - little by little always for flavor . These are really happy dogs. They adore the other stuff - beets and they poop red, sweet potatoes and its orange, funny but you know what they say, ''We are what we eat.'' I have proof of that. Thanks again for the second back up opinion for me. Gina

It's always my pleasure speaking with you. Thank you once again. You may receive an inappropriate follow-up from the site ostensibly sent by me. It wasn't and I apologize in advance should you receive it.
