My 10 yo female...

My 10 yo female dog who had spay when was very young start having spotting the Vet did a vaginal exam and the glove had some blood reddish she thought she felt a mass but is not sure we noticed since last year she started having frequent UTI this time she was diagnosed again w UTI the vet recommended a vaginal US but I would like to know if an MRI would be better as first step since is less invasive plus less risky to do a blind endoscopy vs going in with previous imaging

I have taken her to numerous vets. All have mixed input at what she may have which I think is probably a vaginal hyperplasia. Prior to learning about this condition I was very confused between a prolapse and a hyperplasia. She is beyond a prolapse. A very seasoned vet stated all I needed to do was for her to get spayed and the tissue mass would resolve itself. Other, younger vets stated they needed to get a board certified surgeon to do cosmetic on her vagina in addition to a spay and they wanted to run all kinds of tests, and xrays. My question is if I present pictures can't a DVM look at that picture and give a PROBABLE hypothesis that it is a hyperplasia? … read more
