No flickering. But he cannot see well. Eyes not following things. He cannot smell to find his food either
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
his eyes move like he’s in a tranz
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Earlier he was just looking in the air in a daze

Do you mean his eyes are starring? Or moving side to side when you say a trance?

This has never happen before. This all started Saturday. Before that he was fine
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
He can see. But walks to the right rubbing against things

He doesnt walk into thingson his left

Is he eating ok?

Any shaking of his head?

Is his head tilted to one side when he walks?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
He’s eating selectively. Not his dog food as much. He keeps pawing his right ear
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
But he has an appetite
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
He’s not responsive when I call him
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Are you there?

Ok.

It sounds like he has an inner ear infection. This is why his balance is off and he has weird behavior. The pain of the infection may also be causing him to appear different and non-responsive. As it is the inner ear it is not always possible to see the infection by looking in the ear. There is not treatment that you will have at home to help with this condition unfortunately.

Other possibilities are old dog vestibular disease (but usually the eyes flick and he would not rubbing at his ear) or a brain growth - this is very hard to diagnose

Why loss of sight with inner ear infection

That can be pain related

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Ok.... would that be why he’s not responsive when I walk by him sleeping
Customer reply replied 1 month ago
Meaning he stays asleep. Normally he get up and watches me

Hard to say. He may just be feeling really unwell.

I recommend you visit your vet ASAP to have him checked. He likely need antibiotics and pain releif. The vet may recommend further tests as well to make a firm diagnosis.
