Hello. My dog ate a pine cone or two elier today and is now having issues pooping. Do I wait to see if it continues or x-ray now?

How many hours/days has she been having trouble pooping?

We have only notice one session of trouble pooping. (thanks for letting me use the technical term)
No vomiting
Yes she is eating and wanting food. With her I dont know if it would make a difference. Food crazy dog.
Yes but it is getting close to her bedtime. Normal puppy behavior and activity from poop session to now.

OK. It does not sound too serious yet - I dont think an xray is needed yet. Normally once a pine cone has passed through to colon an xray is not usually warranted. Sometimes an enema may be required though

Try increasing the amount of wet food in the diet. Add water to the food so it is like a soup. Adding some oil (paraffin or olive) can also help.

If you dog has been struggling to go for a couple of days I would recommend visiting your veterinarian for a clinical examination and a likely enema
