Hello. My name is***** and I am a veterinarian that can answer your question. I understand your dogs may have swallowed fertilizer from the Happy Frog brand. I am sorry to hear about what happened. Do you know about how much fertilizer was swallowed and how long ago this occurred?

We are guessing about 10 mins ago and about 2 -3 tablespoons
Dog Veterinarian: Scott Perry, Dog Veterinarian replied 4 months ago

Thank you for that information. From what I am observing with most of the Happy Frog brands, these ingredients contain a combination of organic compounds and microbes. The toxicity effects of this are limited to signs associated with upset stomach and diarrhea, and do not cause the neurological side effects such as seizures and tremors observed with other fertilizers. Therefore, the treatment is aimed at reducing nausea and vomiting. This is best done by giving an over-the-counter medication such as Pepcid and a low fat diet like boiled chicken or white rice. This can be fed in small amounts throughout the day. The Pepcid dose for a 30 lb dog is 10 mg (i.e. 1 tablet) every 12 hours. Tasha's dose would be a bit higher. The dose for a 50-60 lb dog is 20 mg (i.e. 2 tablets) every 12 hours. Give this for 3-5 days. If no vomiting by that time then slowly transition back to their regular diet. If vomiting should occur and is not able to be controlled with this approach then contact your regular veterinarian for treatment.
