The package contained 6 pieces valued at 33 calories each - and he ate them all. I guess he wants to go on an early morning run.The ingredients are as follows: Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Dried Cane Syrup, Organic Malodextrin, Pectin, Citric Acid, Natural Flavor, Organic Black Carrot juice concentrate, potassium citrate, sea salt, organic sunflower oil, carnauba wax.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today.

Now thankfully there is nothing overly worrisome in the ingredients (provided it isn't one with caffeine added). If anything these may just cause short term GI upset (vomiting, loose stools, etc). Therefore, at this point, we'd only want to take things easy and monitor for today. As well to offset any GI upset, you can consider offering a light diet option. Examples of an easily digestible diet include cooked white rice with boiled chicken, boiled white fish, scrambled egg, or meat baby food (as long as its free from garlic or onion powder). Ideally, we want to offer this as small frequent meals to keep the stomach settled. But again nothing in these are dangerous for dogs and we'd only see a bit of Gi upset if he has a sensitive stomach.

Kind regards,

Dr. B.

No, the kind he ate thankfully did not have added caffeine, which I know can cause dogs to shake and worse. And the 24g of sugar that he ingested is not problematic?

Great, that is always good to hear in these cases and the sugar isn't really a worry here but he may be a wee bit hyperactive today. :)

Best wishes,

Dr. B.
