It's a clients English setter. I'm his groomer. Last month he was fine. This month he has a solid lump on the side of his neck ( internal) feels attached to me. Her vet wouldn't aspirate it and test. I told her to get a 2nd opinion. He also has bad diarrhea . He's 7 months old

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. Some lumps are serious and some aren't. Let's see what the Veterinarian has to say. What is the dog's name?

Harry

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Harry?

He's very lethargic for a young pup and howls a lot. He also seems a bit on the heavy side for a 7 month old. And has a lactating patella Laxating Oops

I am concerned about your clients puppy Harry and this strange lump. Mainly because he is symptomatic and due to his age he shouldn't be expected to have benign masses quite this young. I am concerned that this lump may either be an abscess (infected pocket) or it may be an enlarged lymph node. It definitely needs to be aspirated soon by the vet to determine which is likely the cause. If it is an abscess, then it needs to be drained and Harry should be given antibiotics to help resolve the infection and get him feeling better soon!

Does it feel warm to the touch?

Is Harry eating well?
