Dog accidentally ate mesoprolol...

Dog accidentally ate mesoprolol pill

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. The Expert will know if the dog will be able to digest that. What is the dog's name and age?

Morrow and he's about 6 months

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Morrow?

He's not vomitting or anything. He's a puppy so he eats a lot of things. We're in a very isolated area and probably don't have access to a vet.

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question

How many mg were in your pill (metoprolol) and how much does Morrow weigh, please?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
The pill was 50 mg. Morrow weighs about 40 pounds. I'm actually pretty certain he didn't eat it because he spit it out.

Even if he had ingested it, the dose would be well within that which I could dose him. In fact, I could dose a 40 lb dog at 120 mg! There's no need to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Please respond with further questions or concerns.
