shitzu poodle mini austrailian shepard,
no pre existing conditions, no coughing or diarrhea, his eyes are clear and nose is moist, he seems very lathargic
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
i can massage his whole body without causing him pain, he only yelps when he gets picked up or if he jumps up or down from the couch

1- Can you take a look at his gums and see if they are pink or pale?

2- Can you take his rectal temperature?

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 4 months ago
his gums look normal, no paler than before this behavior started. i dont have a rectal thermometer but he isnt panting and he doesnt feel particularily hot, i know thats not very helpful but thats the best i can do

Please give me 5-10 minutes to type your answer. No need to accept the phone call request. Thank you.

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question

Friend, being lethargic is a very nonspecific symptom and can be related to many different medical conditions that affect dogs. Anything from neuromuscular disorders like a pinched nerve or a pulled muscle to a systemic disease like an infection, kidney or liver disease, etc. are all possible causes. Unfortunately, on history only I will not be able to determine the exact underlying cause, I am sorry. Murphy needs to see a veterinarian for a hands-on examination, blood work and maybe x-rays as an initial screening test to pinpoint the exact underlying cause. Treatment will be based on exam and test results. If cost is a concern I would look into your local ASPCA or Shelter where they often offer veterinary services at a lower cost.

My goal is to provide you with excellent service. If you have any follow-up questions don't hesitate to ask. If finished, please take a moment to rate my service it is how I get compensated. See you again soon!
