Hello, this is Dr. Schmidt. Thank you for using JustAnswer. Did he get sent home with any medications yesterday after his neuter? Is there anything he could have gotten in to?

Hr may have gotten into something. I had my stove replaced today amd i got home and he was acting like this

I am sorry, I cannot accept phone calls at this time, but I can opt out for another professional if a call is what you would prefer, otherwise we can continue our conversation, and I will continue to type my reply as well.

I think without knowing what he got into, I wouldn't make any specific recommendations there like inducing vomiting etc., but I can make some general recommendations to help with the drooling and probably nausea from whatever he got into.

They had swept behind the stove but left a small pile. Im not sure if it may have been a medication i had dropped years ago or ant poisoning ... but it would have been several years old.

Overstepping. And he is laying with me on my couch now and as his head droops as he is seeming very sleepy, he wont let his head rest. He jerks it up as he is almost relaxed..

Ok, that is good to know. It does sound like he might have gotten into something. I think you have a couple of options. The best thing to do would be to take him in to the emergency vet for supportive care, monitoring, and detoxification. If you are unable to do that for whatever reason, you can try the following until you can get him in to the vet in the morning.

You can give Pepcid (0.25 mg/lb) every 12 hours for the next few days. It is an antacid that can help decrease the acidity in the stomach and help with the drooling. I would feed boiled chicken and white rice for the next few days. It is a bland diet that can help with the drooling. You can also syringe feed some Pedialyte to help with hydration.
