HI, my dog ate...

HI, my dog ate some sure start organic fertilizer. He seems fine and normal. Should I be concerned?

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. The Expert will know if your dog will be able to digest that. Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about your dog?

He's 22 pounds and a pug. The fertilizer says 4% nitrogen. No iron.

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question

Fortunately, these types of products aren't toxic or poisonous to our dogs when they ingest them; they don't contain enough concentrated ingredients to be a problem. Depending on how much he swallowed, he might develop diarrhea in 12-24 hours or he might vomit within 30 minutes or so after but that's about all that I'd expect to see.

No action on your part is necessary since he'll be fine. I hope this helps to reassure you about him, Deb
