Customer Question
I need to get...

I need to get antibiotic for his teeth. I’ve had them cleaned and every time they’ve given him clindamicin. He’s old. Most of his teeth have fallen out and I won’t torture him anymore w the cleanings. I just want him comfortable

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What is the dog's name and age?

Ace. He’s 14 and fading pretty fast. His only discomfort are his gums. The antibiotic works well and the two affected teeth fell out

Veterinarian's Assistant: What is the dog's name?

ACE

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about the dog?

No. He’s just old. He has cateracks. He eats well and gets lots of love. His only issue is the gum infection. I brush his teeth but the infection makes it painful. We lost his sister not long ago. He’s following the same path. I don’t want to make him endure anything. I just want him comfortable

Hello, this is Dr. Benedetta, and I would like to help with Ace.

Clindamycin is the antibiotic of choice for oral infections.

If he responds well to it, there is no reason for your veterinarian to deny your request for another course of Clindamycin.

It is a prescription medication, so you will need a prescription, which can only be done legally by a veterinarian who has seen Ace within the last 12 month.

Hope this helps! let me know if you need further help
