Spitting up mucus, diarrehea...

Spitting up mucus, diarrehea, tiny blood spots in fecal spotting, gets docile but last night seemed back to normal but this morning seemed to be dealing with this again.

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What is the dog's name and age?

Mikey, 2 yrs

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Mikey?

Well we had him at his annual check up, and he seemed a little off after that but he also is apt to pick up things and chew them as well.

Okay thanks

This sounds like acute gastroenteritis and colitis

I am not too panicked at this point

Lets do this:

No food today

Water, pedialyte and no salt chicken broth are fine

Give Imodium at 0.1 mg/kg three times a day

Give Zantac at 1.0 mg/kg three times a day

Update mt his evening

Okay?

Paul
