Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What is wrong with the dog?

Not sure she just doesn’t seem to want to lie down to sleep and is breathing heavy

Sable she is about 13 now she is a papillon

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner and I'm sorry to hear of this with Sable. Please let me know if you still need help. May I have an update on Sable, please? Dogs who won't lie down and are breathing heavily are usually suffering from significant respiratory compromise; in other words, because lying down collapses the lungs on her dependent side and her lungs are already compromised she would have even less lung available to oxygenate herself. Advanced cardiopulmonary disease is the usual cause and congestive heart failure is the most important of those diseases in a miniature 13 year old. Sable needs the attention of her vet at your earliest convenience.
