Customer Question

Threw up 7 times over the last 10 hours. She is drinking water and going to the bathroom, but can't hold anything down.
JA: I'll do all I can to help. Hopefully it didn't make a mess. Did the dog eat anything unusual?
Customer: Was eating snow on Wed, but has been fine until this morning
JA: What is the dog's name and age?
Customer: Sadie. 9 year old Ridgeback mix.
JA: How old is Sadie?
Customer: 9 years old
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Sadie?
Customer: No, that's about it. Doesn't seem bloated, so I'm not thinking blockage. Maybe gastritis or stomach torsion.

Dr. Paul Brazzell here

It is not torsion

But we do have to think about pancreatitis and metabolic disease- liver, kidney, electrolytes etc etc

We can try and manage it for acute gastritis but if the vomiting persists then we will have to get her examined

She had pancreatitis before, but that was from eating steak leftovers. If she's had it before, is it more likely to reoccur?Tim
