Making wheezing sounds and trying to vomit

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. Hopefully it didn't make a mess. Did the dog eat anything unusual?

He snuck a piece of spaghetti from my sons plate. He’s a five month old teddy bear.

Veterinarian's Assistant: What is the dog's name?

Welcome to JustAnswer.com! My name is***** and I have been a licensed veterinarian for 10 years. I would be happy to answer your question. I'm sorry to hear that Benjie is making wheezing sounds and seems to be trying to vomit. Can you please tell me how old he is? That will help narrow down the likely possibilities of what could be going on.

Whatever is going on may or may not be related to eating the spaghetti. It's possible that it gave him some heartburn. You can trying giving him a 5 mg tablet of Pepcid to see if that helps settle his stomach.

The symptoms began immediately after eating the noodle. Heartburn doesn’t come on that quickly, does it? Could the noodle have gotten stuck? Is there anything i can do to fully induce vomiting?
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Rachel, Dog Veterinarian replied 1 month ago

Oh I see. I would expect heartburn to start at least a few minutes after eating the noodle. I would check the back of his throat with a flashlight and see if you see the noodle there.
