I fell asleep last night and this is what I woke up to. She isn’t loving and caring. She’s kinda whining a lot. Her heart beat is up. She is acting so strange.
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
She’s a schnauzer and shih tzu mix

Okay thanks

It is too late to induce vomiting

So we will have to keep a close watch

What was the strength of the tablets?

Paul

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
50MG. I’m not sure if she ate the whole ones. I founds bits a piece here but I definitely recovered 4 chewed into, 4 gone, and 1 destroyed.

50mg? That is a high does ingested then

Hopefully she just ate bits and pieces

We need to watch for hyperactivity, agitation, aggression, tremors, seizures, high heart rate and abnormal heart beats

You should keep me updated over the day

Will you be home?

Paul

50MG per pill. I’m so scared. She’s just whining and pacing. She won’t cuddle with me or anything. I don’t know what to do. Is she going to die? When will this pass? I called out of work to watch her.

She will be okay but I need to know her heart rate

Put your hand on her chest behind left elbow

Count over one minute

Paul

I keep getting 43

Hmmmm

That seems wrong

But at least in the right direction

Can you try again?

Paul

Her heart beat seems abnormal. It isn’t like a bump bump. It’s like BUMP BUMP BUMP BUMP. Now I got 36

You are not counting properly but that is okay.

You said it was irregular in rhythm?

Paul

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
Irregular in a way

Okay

Lets keep a watch for the next hour

Update me then

I will decide if she needs to go in or not then- okay?

Hang in there

And you can rate me now- I will leave this link open for you

Paul

Thank you. I did the 15 seconds and multiple heart beat by 4 and got 36 that time.

Okay

Ask Your Own Dog Veterinary Question
Customer reply replied 5 months ago
Is that more accurate or no?

Well if we multiple 36 x 4 then yes that sounds about right
