This trembling and hard breathing could be one of many things- pain, discomfort, anxiety, fever.

I would probably give it 12-24 hours to see if it resolves on it's own. If it's just some anxiety, it may resolve without any treatment. If it's still going on in 12-24 hours, then I would probably have an exam and potentially some bloodwork performed. That would rule out some of the more serious things that it could be.

If you want to try something at home for any mild pain, you could give Aspirin. The safe dose in dogs is 5 mg per lb body weight. It can be given every 12-24 hours, as needed. That may be something you could try at home to see if it resolves the signs.

If you notice worsening in her breathing or her gums/ tongue look blue or pale, then I would get her seen right away.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

i have lo dose aspen for me can i give that
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Gary, Dog Veterinarian replied 3 months ago

Yeah, Aspirin comes in 81 mg as the low dose. The dose you can give is up to 5 mg per lb body weight. You'll have to calculate it based on what Aspen weighs.

she is around 60 lbs
Dog Veterinarian: Dr. Gary, Dog Veterinarian replied 3 months ago

Ok, so you could give 3 of those 81 mg tabs.
