No, it isn't toxic. In a margin of safety study, Nexgard (afoxolaner) was administered orally to 8- to 9-week old Beagle puppies at 1, 3, and 5 times the maximum exposure dose for three treatments every 28 days, followed by three treatments every 14 days, for a total of six treatments. There were no clinically relevant effects related to treatment on physical exam, body weight, food consumption, clinical pathology, gross pathology, histopathology or organ weights. Vomiting occurred throughout the study. He's going to remain well. There's no need to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Please respond with further questions or concerns.
