Customer Question
6 month old Beagle...

6 month old Beagle puppy about 28 pounds just ate about 1/2 tube (not actual container) of Equate First Aid Antibiotic ointment. What should I do?

Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. The Expert will know if the puppy will be able to digest that. What is the Beagle's name?

Bocephus.

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Bocephus?

Nothing medically going on with him.

The acute ingestion of topical antibiotics isn't expected to cause significant toxicity. Self-limiting vomiting and diarrhea may arise but not need supportive gastrointestinal care. There's no need to induce emesis or treat in any manner. Please respond with further questions or concerns. Bocephalus's prognosis is excellent. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
