Veterinarian's Assistant: I'll do all I can to help. What seems to be the problem with the dog?

Our dog paces constantly and he quivers off and on hes 7 months old Chihuahua/ yorkie

Veterinarian's Assistant: Where does the dog seem to hurt?

He doesn't , but maybe it could be his tummy we had sum problems with stomach in the passed we tried giving him banana (baby ) food and he eats up Are we giving him to much?

Veterinarian's Assistant: OK. No obvious pain. What is the dog's name?

Cooper

Veterinarian's Assistant: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about Cooper?

When we first got him we flooded his area with all kinds of dog treats and he started having diarrhea so we stop and took to the vet ( banfield )at pet smart they gave him sum drops and he got better but now were watching him pace all night and throught out the day

I'm sorry to hear of this with Cooper. Aimless pacing to that extent suggests encephalopathy (brain disorder) involving the forebrain - cerebrum and thalamus. Miniature dogs, particularly Yorkies - are over-represented with an anatomical liver condition called microvascular dysplasia/portosystemic shunt which alters liver function to the point at which the liver can't detoxify the blood efficiently which then intoxicates the brain. Cooper needs the attention of his vet at your earliest convenience. Testing should involve blood and urine tests including serum bile acids which is the most sensitive test for liver function. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
